| Ann Pence wrote these songs as a tribute to her friends and as an "auntie" to her friends' children from China. The songs begin with the baby, left in a box or a basket, at the gates of another life. The cycle ends when this adopted child has grown up and goes back to China, searching for the connection we all search for, whether adopted or not.
