Happy Family

Our family is really good at keeping track of holidays and celebrations
We're a cacophony of cultures, we're a big collective discombobulation
Oh my god (or guru, Buddha, rabbi, pastor, priest, or emperor or monk)
This thing could put me in a funk...

Cause we're a secular, Buddhist, Christian, Jewish, Chinese, American Happy Family.

Now that Autumn Moon & Halloween & Yom Kippur & Thanksgiving are over
We can concentrate on Chanukah and Christmas and just getting through December.
We will light the Christmas tree and the Menorah and we'll buy and buy and buy and buy and buy and buy and buy until we drop
Oh it helps if you love to shop...

The play group has appointed me to be the one in charge of Chinese New Year,
So I must clean my house and get out all the bad luck lurking in the atmosphere.
And I must get the firecrackers, lucky money, poems for luck and food
for luck, and I'll be lucky if I keep my head.
Oh don�t forget the color red...

Our family may sound a lot like something not to be confused with what is nuclear.
We like to think of ourselves more like something somebody might pour out of a blender.
When one is brown and one is white and one is blonde and one has very dark black hair
